Jessica is a long-time client of mine whose Thoroughbred gelding, Trippi, is somewhat famous. I have had the pleasure of photographing Jessica and her animals many times and each session I do for her makes me smile, because she is so in love with each of them. I really admire that she is a true advocate for their health and happiness, and Trippi is no exception. He can be rambunctious, somewhat unpredictable, and earned himself quite the reputation on the track. But boy does he love his Mom. He must know she’s his biggest fan.
I photographed these two at Volo Farm in Westford, MA, on an overcast fall day. Overcast days make for great photos, even though I love shooting with the sun. The clouds soften the light and as a result, there are no harsh shadows. Volo has lots of beautiful property and the colours were nearing their peak. I love the hints of red and gold peeking through the background here.
