Venue/Caterer: Pond House Cafe in West Hartford, CT
Marcia and Joe welcomed an international gathering of their closest family and friends for their gorgeous wedding at Pond House Cafe in West Hartford, CT. The day was overcast with a chance of rain, but as I always say, cloudy is the best lighting for photography. The clouds act like a giant softbox for the sun, casting a gorgeous soft light that has no harsh shadows or hot spots. It was perfect!
Rain eventually did move in but not before they said their vows in front of their guests on the back terrace of the Cafe. A friend officiated the wedding and their wedding party looked on with so much happiness on their faces. There were sweet moments and moments of laughter.
Immediately following their ceremony, we did formal portraits of their wedding party and families, then I took Marcia and Joe out by themselves for portraits of just the two of them. There were so many beautiful spots in Elizabeth Park.
I loved all the international touches, like the guest book world globe, where their guests were asked to sign their names on a silvery globe. That was so unique!! Marcia also designed and created the table numbers, which looked like giant framed stamps. Each table was named after a location they had visited or would be visiting in the future, and the cost of the stamp represented the year they had been or were going to that destination. Again, so creative and unique!
