Photographing an extended family is a lot of fun and a big challenge! I photographed the Couturier family recently; the photo session was a gift to Sue from all her kids for her birthday, and they also gifted her a print credit so she could choose a nice big portrait for her wall. We met at Kinney Azalea Gardens in Kingston, RI at the very tail end of the azalea bloom. There were still flowers blooming, thank goodness! The group included Sue, her three children, and their families; 12 people in all. I made sure to photograph each individual family, including the parents and the kids. It was a really fun session! This family is easy going and everyone has a great sense of humor. I met with the whole group to reveal their images and they each chose prints and a piece of wall art to hang in their homes.
