I recently photographed Maddy and Jeff’s engagement session at Fort Wetherill State Park in Jamestown, RI. It was pretty darn cold (28 degrees!) but they pulled it off! Must have been all that snuggling that kept them warm, wink wink. Plus, it was kind of a workout climbing all the steps in the Fort. If you haven’t been there, I highly recommend checking it out! It’s a fascinating place. I am pretty excited for Maddy and Jeff’s wedding, because I am going to be a bridesmaid! My good friend and often-second-shooter Irena Mandel will be photographing the wedding for them. Can’t wait!!
I recently bought a tilt/shift lens, which if you’re not familiar with it, is a very specialized lens. There are extra controls on the exterior of the lens shaft where you can actually alter the plane of focus. It’s so cool!
Another tilt/shift portrait – see how the sides are both out of focus?
We came across this gorgeous open area and I said to them, you two should dance! So they had a lovely slow dance, complete with a dip and lots of snuggling.
We wrapped up the evening with a quick costume change; well actually, Maddy just put this skirt right over her jeans! It’s a skirt I have for clients to wear and I thought she would look amazing in it (I was right!) so I convinced her to try it.
Congratulations, Maddy and Jeff!
