Every year, I photograph at least one wedding that makes me ask myself, “Is this real life?” and this year, that wedding took place right on my dining room table! Sparkle, our Elf, has been part of our family for a while now, duct taping the doors shut and dumping sprinkles on the floor for about three years. She recently met Dash when he unexpectedly flew in from the North Pole. After a whirlwind 24 hour romance where he wowed her with his paper snowflake cutting abilities and swept her off her feet with his handsome face, Dash proposed to her and to our delight, she said yes!

Like many of my other couples this year, they decided Coronavirus was NOT going to put a stop to their love story, and got married with just their closest barbies and Frozen characters in attendance. Their faithful reindeer Twinkle Toes was also in the wedding, naturally. He was so well behaved and barely made a peep the entire time!

Their wedding party consisted of Elsa, who was standing in for Anna (Anna was on important royal business in Arendelle), Kristoff, a Maileg mouse, a Calico Critter and a few other friends. As is usual with any wedding party portrait, no one seemed to want to look at the camera at the same time, but I did my best.

After Dash and Sparkle said their vows, they zipped away in Barbie’s car, which Kristoff had thoughfully decorated earlier in the day with a “Just Married” sign and peppermint Hershey kisses trailing behind.

Tonight they’ll depart for a well deserved 11 month honeymoon!

We are glade that our Elves are free to show and share their love among themselves.
We look forward to seeing them all continue with their professional services in our children’s homes.
