My 2021 wedding season has been a wild ride from start to finish, and how better to finish it up than with a GORGEOUS Castle Hill Inn wedding in Newport, RI. Haley and Clayton tied the knot with their closest friends and family in attendance, getting a gem of a day in late October. All week, the forecast said rain, and then at the last second it felt more like June than October! The sun was out, the flowers blooming, the breeze just perfect, and I was just SO happy for Haley and Clayton. We were even able to get down to Grace Kelly Beach for some beautiful backlit portraits in the best of the afternoon light. Together with their families, Haley and Clayton pulled out all the stops for their guests with the help of planner extraordinaire Pamela D’Orsi of PDR Events.
Haley wore a one-of-a-kind gown that she personally designed. It fit her like a glove and she looked so elegant and beautiful. Her bridesmaids wore dresses that they each chose, which I absolutely loved. Matching dresses is out in favour of coordinated colours in different styles to fit each body. Haley got ready on site at Castle Hill in one of the beach cottages, and Clayton got ready with his groomsmen in an Air B&B right off Thames St in Newport. I could not believe my luck that daisies were still in bloom down the hill from the venue, so we did all the formal portraits with them as a background. How incredible is that in October in New England?
The details inside the Chalet were so beautiful that I made sure to photograph them throughout the evening, as the sun set and the candles began to twinkle. The space had a magical ambiance that I think everyone could feel. Guests were treated to fresh hot apple cider as they arrived, and had the option to add an extra zing of their choice. There was a basket of soft warm blankets to use should they get chilly. After dinner, the Silver Arrow Band kept the party going with live music that got everyone out of their seats.
