Kayla + Andrew | Atlantic Resort Wyndham Newport Wedding

Kayla and Andrew’s day was so full of joy, and I still smile about how fun it all was months later when I think of their wedding. Both Kayla and Andrew got ready at The Atlantic Resort in Middletown, RI. Kayla did three first looks: one with her Pops, one with the groomsmen (hilarious), and then we traveled to Salve Regina for her first look with Andrew. This was another Fall wedding with spectacular weather, better than most of my summer weddings! I was thrilled for them.

Kayla and Andrew opted to go to multiple locations for portraits, including Salve Regina, The Cliff Walk, Sachuest Point National Wildlife Refuge, and then Sachuest Beach (aka Second Beach). I had visited each location and scoped out our plan to maximize the portraits for each location. That planning paid off handsomely with what I think is one of the most diverse, complete portrait sets I’ve ever delivered for a wedding. Of course, we also allocated plenty of time when planning out the day to make sure we could accomplish all of this! Planning is key 😉 Click here for tips when building a wedding day timeline.

I laughed so hard at the start of their ceremony, when their two Flower Guys walked down the aisle to great applause, as they flung rose petals with a fervor I have yet to see any tiny flower girl accomplish. Way to go, guys.

Their ceremony was an outdoor sunset ceremony in November, which is pretty ballsy (and we did have backup plans in case of bad weather) but it worked out beautifully for Kayla and Andrew. It was a challenge to shoot the ceremony in rapidly dimming light, but the sunset was unreal and worth the effort. After the ceremony, we did some creatively lit portraits outside, and then went inside and did more creative portraits in the reception space before the guests were able to access it.

The reception was a ton of fun and I couldn’t help but smile as everyone enjoyed themselves!
