Film Photography

I am now offering film photography services! I started my photography journey with a 35mm film SLR, learning how to process film and develop prints in a dark room in college. Recently, I purchased a 1990 model Canon EOS-3 (35mm SLR) and have been taking it to sessions and weddings to get some film portraits. Working with film again is a challenge after so many years of quickly reviewing images for focus, exposure, and quality of the moment on the back of my digital cameras, but I am loving it!

Select wedding photography packages include film photography, or clients can add it to their package or hourly coverage. Portrait clients can also opt to add film portraits to their portrait session coverage. During portrait sessions, I’ll shoot about 1 roll of film (36 exposures), and during weddings, I’ll shoot 2-3 rolls of film during the event up to the reception during getting ready, first look, portraits, and details. I do not photograph with film during the reception.

I use Kodak Portra colour film, and Ilford HP5 black and white film. Clients can specify whether they’d like colour or black and white film to be used at their session/event. I send the film out to be developed at a professional lab. After developing, the film is scanned at high resolution and I receive an email with a link to the files, along with the physical film negatives back in the mail after the lab is finished with them.

Contact me for full pricing information. I look forward to adding this nostalgic service onto my sessions this year!
